Dr. Marcus Shams, ND
Naturopathic Physician
Dr. Marcus Shams is a licensed Naturopathic Physician and owner of Elixir Clinic. He obtained his undergraduate education at Northern Arizona University where he received a degree in Biomedical Sciences with emphasis in medical psychology. He received his naturopathic medical degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic medicine in 2018. In clinical practice Dr. Shams blends naturopathic modalities with modern medical practices to deliver an integrative approach to address and treat both common and uncommon medical conditions. He has a focus in the treatment of young adult mental health concerns, autoimmune, and endocrine disorders, as well as conditions stemming from environmental exposure to toxins. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Shams has converted his mobile clinic to offer intravenous medicine in peoples homes to assist them in recovery. During his free time for which he has very little of, Dr. Shams enjoys spending time in the outdoors, and often takes trips up north to go camping/backpacking in Flagstaff.

Frustrated by our current medical system I made a series of rash decisions that led to the creation of Elixir Clinic. I couldn’t stand to just push pills onto patients, so I trained for 6 years in integrative and modern naturopathic medicine where I focus on determining and treating the cause of illness. I wouldn’t let insurance companies dictate that I provide subpar diagnostics and treatments to my patients, so I broke up with them and went cash-based where I don’t have to an exuberant amount for everything. I felt bad for the patients that were too sick, or otherwise unable to come in to the office, so I built a mobile clinic and now bring the office to them. It has been an incredible experience to buy an ambulance and work every night for months to build into into a fully functional mobile medical clinic. Given the current pandemic I am committed to use my mobile clinic to help those in need.
